Colour on objects

UV printing for gifts, logos and everyday objects.

UV printing brings logos, illustrations and photographs to suitable objects. From a small desk accessory to a personalised gift, the useful starting point is the surface you want to decorate and the detail you want people to notice.

The exact product, material and print area need approval. Available configurations are shown on each product page.

Options and availability vary by product.

01

One design, different ways to apply it

UV printing uses ink cured with ultraviolet light. The right application method depends on the shape, coating and usable area of the object. Direct printing, a transfer and a wrap are different options; they are not interchangeable on every product.

Direct printing on a suitable surface

A flat, accessible area gives a logo or illustration room to stand out. Consider a sign for a reception desk, a set of coasters or a rigid accessory. The printable area helps determine whether a compact logo, a photograph or a larger composition works best.

UV DTF stickers and logo transfers

A UV DTF design is printed onto transfer film and applied to a compatible hard surface. It may offer an option where direct access is difficult. Curves, texture, coatings and handling still need assessment. It is a different application from DTF transfers used for clothing.

Wrap designs on approved models

Some cylindrical objects can be considered for a design around the exterior. The exact shape, dimensions, taper and handle clearance matter. A full-wrap idea still needs a tested product configuration and space for a seam; it does not mean every part of the object can be printed.

02

Let the object guide the artwork

Colourful branding, a clear illustration or a well-prepared photograph each asks something different of a surface. Share the original file and desired dimensions so the composition can be judged at its actual size.

Business accessories

A logo on a desk item or a coordinated set of gifts can connect with your existing visual identity. Use the same original logo source and identify any colour that is particularly important. Different materials may need different artwork treatment.

Personal gifts

Keep the main message readable: a name, a date or one strong photo often needs less space than a busy collage. A shared illustration across several gifts can bring a wedding, family occasion or team celebration together. Check how the design looks when the item is used.

White and clear effects

Where an approved configuration supports white or clear layers, their use depends on the material and desired finish. Ask about the specific effect rather than assuming that every product includes an opaque base or raised detail.

03

Check the sample, use and care together

The surface preparation and an adhesion sample establish suitability for the exact item. Tell us how it will be handled and cleaned, and whether it is intended for indoor or outdoor use. This lets us consider appearance and practical use together, with care guidance for the agreed finish.

Define the safe decoration area

Keep rims, interiors and food-contact areas outside the design. Handles, seams and edges can also restrict the printable area.

Confirm availability before planning a deadline

Some products or finishes may still be in preparation. We can review an idea, but ordering, price and timing depend on the selected configuration being available. Do not assume dishwasher, weather or abrasion resistance without confirmed product guidance.

Questions before you begin

Can you print on any glass, metal or plastic object?

No. Material names cover many coatings and finishes, and shape also affects access. Send the exact product or material reference; suitability needs assessment and may require a sample.

Is UV DTF the same as a clothing transfer?

No. UV DTF in this guide concerns transfers for suitable hard objects. Clothing uses a different transfer process and its own application and care requirements.

Can a design cover a whole bottle or mug?

Only the approved exterior print band of a compatible model can be considered. Handles, taper, seams, rims and the base may limit coverage. Ask with the exact product rather than assuming a complete wrap is available.

Which file should I send?

Send your original logo or a high-quality photo and state the intended size. The artwork guide explains supported formats, transparency and resolution checks.
